refrigerator worthy.....

fridge

Seth Godin post on: frightened/comfort, clueless/coach, uniformed/teach

always seems to come down to time and money... so we need to get that freed up for teacher and student..

best way to do that?...
educate the community..via the students... let kids show what the new possibilities are

visual - kid comes home with an "A" paper - it goes on the fridge...
kids need to share refrigerator-worthy projects with the community

  • * [Untitled]
    1. 1 student and 1 adult from each building - with a flip video
    2. weekly assign: 1 clip of students/teachers modeling *rich activity via web access.
    3. links to [Untitled] will be updated weekly with these clips [by graham at tv, ? at lhs, ? at mv, ? at bhs]
    4. [Untitled]
will be posted on the tsd page of facebook, each school site, and the tsd site.
*Show and tell of only positives - and only of things we wouldn't be able to do w/o rich web use, new learning spaces, etc.
Design is a refrigerator with student papers posted on it. Each paper links to a video from #2 above.

goal - community requesting
1. rich web use (ie: access at school for networking people and info)
and
2. wise money spending (ie: nothing one-size fits all... no whole district purchases... purchase by "need for learning" basis per site or class planning to use it efficiently, this includes text books, prom boards, calcs, etc.)
3. new learning spaces (ie: seat time, the value of being together in a room)

the line of communication
once the public gets it...change can happen.
hard for any to the right to get much done without public buy-in
public--school board--super--admin--teachers

what/why/how: is this new school

example how misinformed decisions cost time and money: wasting money on tech for bad teaching, via Tim Stahmer co author of Disrupting Class

example of kid-directed marketing/coaching/teaching: the i can button - kids teaching parents

why (via student marketing experts) - innovation lab

click the fridge and try it..
also on school sites, tsd site,
and here on facebook
